2014 SBS BANK TOUR OF SOUTHLAND

The 2014 SBS Bank Tour of Southland will be raced from 2 – 8 November. 

Teams
The event is made up of a maximum of twenty six-man teams.  If you are interested in riding the 2014 Tour, start organising your team now and avoid the disappointment of missing out.  

Background
The Tour of Southland Cycle Race is New Zealand’s most established and most successful multi stage road race.  First held back in 1956, the Tour is now in its 58th year and continues to go from strength to strength.  From it modest beginnings as a three day event, the Tour is now raced over six days and has a reputation of being a tough and challenging event. 

Description
The 2014 SBS Bank Tour of Southland is a six day National Tour, comprising seven stages.  The Tour commences on Sunday 2nd November with a 4.2km Team’s Time Trial prologue around Invercargill’s Queens Park.  The six days of racing that follow, takes the Tour to many parts of the region and covers almost 900kms.

9/11/2013 - Kiwivelo-Armstrong Prestige's James Oram claimed his first SBS Bank Tour of Southland victory, finishing safely in the bunch following a bunch sprint finish on Gala Street in Invercargill this afternoon.

Huon Salmon Genesys Wealth Advisers Taylor Gunman claimed second overall from Barry Stewart Builders Sam Lindsay. Tom Scully of Ascot Park Hotel Kia Southland took away the Harcourts Sprint Ace while Grayson Napier of Creation Signs L&M Group Racing claimed the Jesco Hydraulic King of the Mountain. Huon Salmon Genesys Wealth Advisers won the Wensley's Cycles Teams Classification. <read more>
