All the talk last night at the pub was about if 9 Jack Bauer (STR) can hold onto the yellow jersey from 1 Hayden Roulston (CSB). Jack has a mere 3 second gap over Roly.

There is a time bonus of (3,2,1) after 59.1 Km in Mossburn as well as the time bonus at the finish line in Lumsden (6,4,2). After this stage we should be able to predict who will take out the 2010 PowerNet Tour of Southland.

Welcome to the live text commentary for stage 8 of the 2010 PowerNet Tour of Southland. This 79 km stage is sponsored by Southland District Council and starts in Te Anau at 9:30 am.

The live text commentary today is being provided by Tony Corkill (PowerNet) and Sarah van Boheemen (Bike NZ).

The riders will pass though the following places today: Te Anau - Mossburn - Lumsden.

Michael Olheiser was the winner of this stage last year with a time of 1:28:06. He beat Glen Chadwick, Heath Blackgrove, Jack Bauer and Tom Findlay in the sprint for the line in Lumsden after these five riders in the break stayed away.
